What can corner lift filler change?
Corner lift filler uses hyaluronic acid (HA) filler to add volume around the corners of the mouth. It may soften a hollow or improve the surrounding contour when volume loss contributes to a downturned appearance. It does not reliably create an upturned smile in every face.
This is different from adding fullness or defining the shape of the lips. Marionette lines run from the mouth corners towards the chin; nasolabial folds run from the sides of the nose towards the mouth. These concerns can occur together, but filling a nearby line does not necessarily raise the mouth corner.
Who may benefit, and when is filler the wrong approach?
A doctor should assess your mouth at rest and during movement. Local volume loss may respond to filler, while marked loose skin, downward muscle pull or another cause of asymmetry may need a different approach. Filler does not remove excess skin; marked laxity needs assessment for other options, which may include surgery. Choosing no treatment is also reasonable.
Filler adds volume; botulinum toxin reduces muscle activity. Filler does not relax the muscles that pull the mouth corners down. Toxin treatment around the mouth can affect smile balance and lip control, so it needs a separate assessment and product-specific indication check. Combining the two is not automatically better or necessary.
Studies of lip and perioral fillers have reported improvements in mouth-corner severity, but that does not establish a predictable upward change in angle. A study measuring corner-angle changes used both HA and incobotulinumtoxinA, so its results cannot be attributed to filler alone.
Which filler and how much should be used?
Choose the exact product, not just a brand name. Models within Juvederm, Restylane, E.P.T.Q. and Neuramis differ, and no whole brand is best for every downturned corner. Our filler brand and model comparison explains what to check.
There is no standard amount per side. The doctor should explain the proposed volume, likely improvement and risk of overfilling after assessing your tissues and previous treatment.
Before treatment in Thailand, check the full product name, Thai FDA registration and authorised indication, sealed packaging, batch number and expiry date. Approval in another country does not establish Thai authorisation or suitability for this treatment area.
Corner lift filler prices at Smooth Clinic
The earlier version of this Smooth Clinic article listed these starting prices. Each 1 cc entry is a price unit, not the amount everyone needs.
| Filler brand | Price unit | Previously listed starting price |
|---|---|---|
| Juvederm | 1 cc | THB 9,900 |
| Restylane | 1 cc | THB 8,900 |
| E.P.T.Q. | 1 cc | THB 7,900 |

The article also stated that treatment included a doctor consultation and aftercare with no hidden fees, and offered a free facial assessment before deciding. These are historical terms, not a current quote. Confirm the exact model, total volume, all fees, included care and current assessment or promotion conditions before booking.

What should you discuss before treatment?
- Previous filler or procedures around the mouth, including any unknown injected material.
- Medical conditions, bleeding problems, severe allergies, reactions to filler or local anaesthetic, and medicines or supplements you take. Do not stop prescribed medicines yourself.
- Active infection or inflammation near the injection area, including cold sores or inflamed skin. Postpone injections there until the problem has been assessed and treated.
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding: discuss postponing elective filler because safety information is limited.
Use a licensed clinic and doctor. Before agreeing, make sure you understand the expected change, alternatives, risks, follow-up plan and how to obtain urgent help.
What are treatment and recovery like?
The appointment includes assessment, consent, skin cleansing and an individual plan for pain relief. Injections can sting or feel tender even with anaesthetic. A named injection technique does not guarantee a painless procedure or prevent bruising and complications.
Some people resume light activities soon afterwards, but allow for swelling, bruising and tenderness. Do not plan around a promise of no downtime or judge the final shape while the area is swollen.
- Keep the area clean. Do not press, massage or squeeze a lump unless your treating doctor specifically advises it.
- Follow the product-specific advice on makeup, lipstick, exercise and heat exposure. Ask when it is safe to eat or drink, especially if your lips are still numb.
- Attend the agreed review. Worsening symptoms need assessment sooner.
How long do the results last?
HA filler is temporary, but there is no single duration that applies to every product or mouth-corner treatment. Ask about evidence for the exact model and area being treated. Results from a lip-volume study do not establish how long a corner-lifting effect will last.
Visible improvement and complete disappearance of the filler are different. Reassess the area before further treatment rather than topping up automatically. Extra water or strict aftercare cannot guarantee a longer-lasting lift.
What risks and warning signs should you know?
Swelling, bruising, redness, tenderness and unevenness can occur. Other problems include persistent lumps, infection, delayed inflammation and allergic reactions. Genuine products and an experienced doctor do not remove every risk.
Accidental injection into a blood vessel can cause tissue damage, blindness or stroke. These complications are uncommon but may be permanent.
- Severe or unusual pain, pale skin, or dusky or mottled skin: seek immediate medical assessment. If the treating doctor cannot assess you immediately, go to an emergency department.
- Vision changes, eye pain, facial drooping, weakness or difficulty speaking: seek emergency hospital care immediately and say you have had filler. Do not delay transfer for a clinic appointment.
- Breathing difficulty, tongue or throat swelling, faintness or collapse: get emergency help immediately.
- Increasing redness, warmth, swelling, pain, fever or discharge: contact a doctor promptly rather than trying to treat or massage the area yourself.
Can an unwanted result be dissolved?
A doctor may use hyaluronidase to break down HA filler, but first needs to assess the cause of an uneven result or lump. Dissolving has its own risks, including allergy, and may require further treatment. It cannot guarantee an exact return to your earlier appearance or reverse every complication. It does not dissolve non-HA materials in the same way. Read about dissolving HA filler and its limits.
