What can neck filler improve?
Neck filler can soften horizontal neck lines in suitable adults. It usually refers to injections of hyaluronic acid (HA) filler into visible creases. The aim is a less noticeable line, not an instant neck lift or a completely smooth neck.
Horizontal lines, sometimes called neck rings, can appear in younger people as well as with aging. A line that becomes visible when you look down does not by itself establish that you need injections.
Is the concern a neck line, loose skin or a muscle band?
The doctor should assess your neck at rest and with movement, including the depth of the creases, skin condition and previous treatment.
- Horizontal creases: a suitable HA product may help reduce their appearance.

Several concerns can occur together. Adding more filler is not necessarily the right answer, and choosing no procedure is reasonable.
Which filler is suitable for the neck?
The exact formulation matters more than the brand name. Evidence for one HA gel does not establish that every product from the same brand, or every product described as a skin booster, is suitable for neck lines.
There is now a product-specific US approval: in June 2026, the FDA approved SKINVIVE by JUVÉDERM for reducing neck lines to improve neck appearance in adults over 21. This does not establish Thai authorization, availability at Smooth Clinic or approval of other Juvéderm formulations.
In Thailand, ask the doctor to verify the exact product, Thai registration and permitted treatment site and use. Thai FDA guidance says fillers should be used according to their authorized indications, method and quantity. Overseas approval and a published study do not replace those checks.
When will you see results, and how long do they last?
Some change may be visible early, but swelling can affect the appearance. Judge the result at the planned follow-up rather than immediately after injection.
A small Thai study of Belotero Balance reported improvement in horizontal neck lines through six months. The larger study supporting SKINVIVE’s US neck indication also found improvement in many participants at six months after initial treatment and any touch-up. These are findings for specific products and treatment plans, not a promise that all neck fillers last six or twelve months.
Results are temporary and vary. A touch-up or later repeat treatment may be considered after reassessment; neither should be automatic.
Who should postpone treatment or take extra care?
Postpone injections into an area with active infection or inflammation, including a rash, pimples or an unhealed skin problem, until it has been assessed and treated. Product labeling specifically requires the underlying problem to be controlled first.
Tell the doctor about severe allergies, previous filler reactions, medical conditions, medicines and earlier neck procedures. Some fillers contain lidocaine or other ingredients that can cause an allergic reaction. Product-specific contraindications must be checked.
Discuss postponing elective injections during pregnancy or breastfeeding because safety information is insufficient. Medicines that affect bleeding can increase bruising, but do not stop prescribed medicine yourself.
Does neck filler hurt, and what is recovery like?
Injections can sting or feel uncomfortable. Ask which pain-relief options are appropriate for you. A needle or cannula is a tool choice for the clinician; neither makes treatment risk-free.
Bruising, redness, tenderness, swelling and temporary bumps can affect your appearance after treatment. In the SKINVIVE neck study, many reactions settled within two weeks, but some lasted longer, including lumps persisting beyond a month. A fixed one-to-three-day recovery or “no downtime” cannot be promised.
Follow the aftercare for your particular product, including advice about exercise, heat and skincare. Do not press or massage a lump to correct it yourself. Keep the agreed review appointment and contact the clinic about persistent or worsening symptoms.
What are the important risks and warning signs?
Infection, allergic reactions, unevenness and delayed inflammatory lumps can occur. Accidentally injecting filler into a blood vessel can damage tissue. Serious vascular complications, including vision loss and stroke, have been reported with dermal fillers, particularly facial injections; small neck studies cannot rule out rare harm.
Seek immediate medical help for unusual or worsening pain, pale, gray, blue or mottled skin, any change in vision, or sudden weakness or difficulty speaking after filler treatment. Breathing difficulty, throat swelling or chest pain also needs emergency care. Do not wait for a routine appointment or try to treat these symptoms at home.
Can lumps be treated or the filler dissolved?
A lump may reflect swelling, product placement, inflammation or infection. The cause needs assessment before choosing a treatment. A doctor may use hyaluronidase to reduce unwanted HA filler, but not every lump needs dissolving.
Dissolving has its own risks and cannot guarantee complete removal or an exact return to your previous appearance. Our guide to dissolving HA filler explains the options and when urgent care is needed.
Can neck filler be combined with HIFU or laser?
Sometimes different concerns need different treatments, but there is no universal combination or order. The exact device, filler and skin condition matter. Product labeling warns that laser and other skin-reactive procedures may provoke inflammation around filler, including when injections are given before the skin has healed. Discuss the proposed sequence and spacing before booking a package.
How much does neck filler cost in Thailand?
Ask for a current, itemized quote in Thai baht after assessment. It should identify the product, planned amount and treatment area, and explain whether consultation, review visits and any touch-up are included.
There is no standard number of cc for every neck. The plan should reflect the creases, skin and product’s permitted use, rather than a package size or another person’s treatment.
