Filler

Fills deep wrinkles, restores volume, and contours the face.
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance in the body with excellent moisture-retaining properties. It is fully biodegradable and safely dissolves without leaving any residue.
Insight Guide About Filler

Dermal fillers in Bangkok: what can they change?

Dermal fillers can restore lost volume, soften selected folds and change proportions such as lip fullness or chin projection. The main question is whether your concern comes from a lack of volume: adding filler will not solve every problem involving loose skin, facial fat or dark circles.

This guide focuses on hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers. HA is a sugar-based substance found naturally in the body, but injectable HA is a manufactured medical gel with properties that vary by product. Its ability to bind water helps create volume; being related to a natural substance does not make an injection risk-free.

Other injectable materials, including calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA), poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) and permanent fillers, behave differently and cannot all be dissolved like HA. See the biostimulator guide for treatments aimed at stimulating collagen.

If you have already had filler and develop a sudden change in vision, severe pain or unusually pale or dark skin, seek urgent medical care. The safety section below explains which symptoms need immediate hospital assessment.

Which concerns and treatment areas suit filler?

Filler may be useful for adults with a suitable volume or contour concern and realistic expectations of a temporary result. An assessment needs to consider your face at rest and in movement: a visible fold may involve skin, fat, muscle and bone, rather than a hollow that simply needs filling.

AreaWhat filler may improveImportant limitations
Under-eye hollowsA depression or shadow associated with lost volume in suitable patientsIt does not treat every cause of dark circles, pigmentation or eye bags. Existing puffiness or prominent bags can make filler unsuitable.
Temples and hollow cheeksVolume loss and transitions between facial contoursHollowing needs to be distinguished from excess fat or sagging tissue. Too much added volume can make the face look heavier.
Nasolabial foldsSelected folds between the nose and mouth that relate to facial structure and volumeMovement and skin laxity may still contribute. A normal facial fold does not always need to disappear completely.
Marionette lines and mouth cornersSome depressions and loss of support around the mouthMuscle pull and loose tissue may also be involved; adding filler does not reliably lift every downturned mouth corner.
LipsFullness, definition, proportions and some asymmetryYour existing lip anatomy limits the achievable shape. A reference photograph is a discussion aid, not a result that can be reproduced exactly.
Chin and jawlineProjection and definition of the lower face in selected casesIt does not correct a bite problem, reposition the jawbone or remove a double chin.
Backs of the handsAge-related volume loss with an appropriate productIt does not treat age spots or every change in hand skin.

These are treatment goals, not a list of approved uses for every filler. The exact product must be appropriate for the area and its authorised Thai labelling. The nose, forehead and area between the eyebrows deserve particular caution because of vascular and vision risks; a non-surgical treatment is not automatically a low-risk alternative.

If your main concern is marked sagging, excess fat, muscle-related wrinkles or pigmentation, another approach may be more useful. Filler also cannot provide the same structural change as surgery or promise a permanent result.

Which filler brand and model should you choose?

The model matters as much as the brand. A gel intended to provide projection may behave differently from one chosen for a mobile lip or thin tissue. Firmness, flexibility, swelling behaviour and how the gel sits in tissue all matter, alongside the intended use and your anatomy.

Smooth Clinic’s current price catalogue lists Juvederm and Flore, plus the skin-quality HA products Belotero Revive and SKINVIVE by JUVÉDERM. Their purposes are not interchangeable:

  • Juvederm: a family of products with different uses. The catalogue image shows Voluma with Lidocaine, while the price label says Juvederm without an individual model breakdown. Our Juvederm guide explains the importance of model selection.
  • Flore: the catalogue shows the brand and several product boxes, without separate prices for each model. The Flore guide covers the range; the exact product on the treatment plan still needs to be identified.
  • Belotero Revive: combines HA with glycerol and is aimed at skin hydration and quality, including selected fine lines. It should not be treated as equivalent to a gel selected for chin projection. Read more about Belotero Revive.
  • SKINVIVE by JUVÉDERM: the manufacturer’s US information describes improved cheek skin smoothness rather than a change in facial shape or volume. The SKINVIVE guide explains this distinction.

If you are also considering Restylane, Neuramis or e.p.t.q, the filler brand comparison offers further background. An educational article about a brand does not confirm that every model is available at the clinic. Overseas approvals also do not establish a product’s authorised uses in Thailand.

How much does filler cost at Smooth Clinic?

The following prices were checked against Smooth Clinic’s official price page (in Thai) on 15 October 2026, Bangkok time. Quantities are reproduced as listed; a package size is not a recommendation for how much you should have injected.

Catalogue itemQuantityListed priceHow to read the offer
Juvederm1 cc / 4 ccTHB 16,900 / THB 59,990The image shows Voluma with Lidocaine, but the price text does not specify separate models.
Flore1 cc / 4 ccTHB 9,900 / THB 33,990A brand-level listing without individual model prices.
Belotero Revive1 cc / 2 ccTHB 13,900 / THB 25,000The box image identifies Revive, a skin-quality HA product.
SKINVIVE by JUVÉDERM1 cc / 2 ccTHB 13,900 / THB 25,000A skin-quality treatment, not a price for every Juvederm filler.

The catalogue does not fully itemise consultation or doctor fees, anaesthetic, follow-up or package-use conditions. Before payment, confirm the exact model, planned volume, total in Thai baht and what is included. Prices and availability can change; an older promotion in a blog article should not replace the current quotation.

Value depends on whether the treatment addresses your actual concern, as well as the product, provider and aftercare. A lower price per cc does not help if the extra volume is unnecessary, or if important costs and follow-up arrangements are unclear.

How many cc will you need?

1 cc equals 1 millilitre. It measures volume, not the number of injection points or the size of the improvement. Syringe capacity varies by product, so one syringe should not automatically be assumed to mean the same quantity across brands.

The amount depends on the area, degree of hollowing, tissue thickness, symmetry, existing filler and the change you want. A small, focused concern and broader facial volume loss need different plans. Neither a photograph nor another person’s syringe count can establish your requirements.

You do not need full-face filler just because your overall proportions are being assessed. A staged plan can allow swelling to settle before deciding whether more treatment would help. Buying a 4 cc package is not a reason to inject all 4 cc when that volume is unnecessary.

For a natural-looking result, agree on which feature should change and which features you want to preserve. Facial balance is not a fixed formula, and complete symmetry or an exact copy of someone else’s face is not a realistic goal.

When should treatment be postponed or avoided?

Postpone injection into an area with active acne, a rash, a wound, infection or a cold-sore outbreak until it has been assessed and treated. Pregnancy and breastfeeding also warrant deferring elective filler: safety has not been established for products such as SKINVIVE, and the cited Voluma instructions list these as contraindications. Minimum age and other restrictions depend on the exact product.

At the assessment, disclose relevant medical conditions, severe allergies or previous reactions to filler or anaesthetic, bleeding problems, regular medicines and supplements, previous aesthetic treatments and any complications. Include the product and timing of older filler if known, and mention recent or planned dental or skin procedures. Immune conditions, immunosuppressive treatment and an uncertain history of injected material need individual review.

Do not stop prescribed aspirin, anticoagulants or other medication on your own. A doctor should decide whether the treatment can proceed safely or should be delayed.

How can you check the product and provider in Thailand?

A genuine product is only one part of safe care. The clinician’s assessment, the chosen area and the ability to recognise and manage complications also matter.

  • Choose a licensed medical facility and verify the identity and professional registration of the doctor who will perform the procedure.
  • Check the exact brand and model, Thai labelling, authorised importer, registration details, lot number and expiry date. Information on the box and syringe should match.
  • Use the verification routes described in the Thai FDA’s filler guidance (in Thai). Check the permitted use of that particular product, rather than relying on a general “FDA-approved” claim.
  • See the intact packaging before it is opened and keep the model and lot details. If they do not match the agreed product, resolve the discrepancy before injection.
  • Know how to reach the treating team after the visit and how urgent complications would be handled, including outside normal opening hours.

Do not buy filler to inject yourself or use unlicensed injection services. Needle-free devices marketed as an easy or safer way to inject filler are not a substitute for appropriate medical treatment.

What happens at a filler visit, and does it hurt?

A consultation should come before a decision to inject. The general stages of care are:

  1. Assessment: identify the cause of the concern and whether filler or another approach is appropriate.
  2. An agreed plan: establish the product, areas, estimated quantity, cost, expected benefit and risks before consent.
  3. Preparation and treatment: verify the product, clean the skin and select appropriate pain relief. The doctor chooses the equipment for the area.
  4. Checks before leaving: review the immediate response and obtain product-specific aftercare, contact details and any recommended follow-up.

These are general expectations for care, not a fixed appointment schedule. Total visit time depends on the assessment, number of areas and preparation; allow time beyond the injection itself.

Filler injections can hurt. You may feel a sting, pressure or tenderness. Some models contain lidocaine, and topical or other local anaesthetic may be appropriate, but pain relief does not guarantee a painless procedure. Tell the doctor immediately about unusual or increasing pain, a visual change or feeling unwell.

When will you see results, and how much recovery time is needed?

HA used for volume usually produces a visible change immediately. The first appearance includes swelling, so it may look fuller or less even than the settled result. Skin-quality HA should instead be judged on the intended improvement in skin texture or hydration over its follow-up period.

  • Early days: swelling, redness, bruising, tenderness or tightness can occur.
  • Days to weeks: these reactions often settle gradually. Around two weeks can be a useful review point, but some areas and individuals take longer.
  • After settling: contour and remaining concerns can be assessed before considering more filler.

Light work may be possible soon after treatment, but “minimal downtime” does not mean no visible bruising or immediate readiness for photographs. Leave a buffer before a wedding, important event or travel that would make follow-up difficult. There is no guaranteed day by which every result will be settled.

Symptoms that worsen, return after improving or involve abnormal pain, skin colour or vision should be assessed rather than dismissed as normal recovery.

How long do results last, and when should you repeat treatment?

There is no single duration for all HA fillers. The model, area and treatment conditions need to be considered together. These manufacturer examples show why a lip result, a cheek-volume result and a skin-quality result should not be compared as if they were the same outcome:

Product and studied useReported durationImportant context
Juvéderm Voluma with Lidocaine for midface volume lossUp to 24 months in cited clinical studiesReported in the Australia/New Zealand instructions. This is specific treatment-study evidence, not a guarantee that one syringe or one visit will last two years.
Restylane Kysse in the lipsUp to one yearFrom the manufacturer’s US information. Included as a comparison, not confirmation of current Smooth Clinic stock or Thai indications.
SKINVIVE by JUVÉDERM for cheek skin smoothnessSix months with optimal treatmentThe manufacturer notes that an optional touch-up may be needed. This describes skin smoothness, not lasting lip or chin projection.

Study results can reflect an initial treatment plus permitted touch-ups; they should not be read as a promise for a single session. Duration also describes an observed effect, not a date on which every trace of gel disappears.

There is no automatic annual refill requirement. Review how much effect remains and whether your goal has changed before adding more. As the result fades, your appearance may move towards its previous state while normal ageing continues; stopping filler does not mean you must keep injecting to avoid inevitable worsening.

Aftercare: washing, makeup, exercise and Bangkok heat

Follow the instructions for the product and area actually treated. The main aims are to protect the injection sites, avoid aggravating swelling and recognise an unexpected change.

  • Washing: once bleeding has stopped and cleansing is permitted, use clean hands and gentle washing. Avoid scrubbing or using a massage device over the area.
  • Makeup: keep cosmetics off fresh injection sites. The cited Voluma instructions specify no makeup for 12 hours; this is a product-specific example, not a universal rule for every filler or an irritated wound.
  • Exercise and alcohol: SKINVIVE’s instructions advise minimising strenuous exercise and alcohol during the first 24 hours. Follow any different restrictions for your treatment.
  • Heat and sun: avoid prolonged intense exposure and saunas for the period advised. Some product instructions specify longer precautions than 24 hours, which matters when planning outdoor activity in Bangkok.
  • Pressure and massage: do not try to press an uneven area into shape or massage a lump yourself unless the treating doctor specifically directs you to do so.
  • Other procedures: coordinate the timing of laser, skin resurfacing, energy-based treatments and dental work with the relevant clinicians. Do not use heat treatments to try to dissolve filler.

Eat and drink normally unless you have specific restrictions. Excess water is not a proven way to guarantee longer-lasting filler. While your lips are numb, take care with hot food and accidental biting.

Which side effects need urgent medical attention?

Filler can occasionally block a blood vessel or compromise the blood supply to tissue. The consequences can include skin damage, loss of vision or stroke. Genuine HA and an experienced injector do not reduce the risk to zero.

Vision changes, stroke-like symptoms or a severe allergic reaction

Go to an emergency department immediately for sudden blurred or lost vision, double vision or an unusual drooping eyelid, with or without eye pain. Facial drooping, weakness, difficulty speaking, breathing difficulty or swelling of the tongue or throat also require emergency care.

Tell the medical team that you recently had filler, and contact the injector while arranging help. Do not wait for a review appointment or a chat reply. Do not drive yourself if vision or neurological symptoms are present.

Severe pain or an abnormal change in skin colour

Severe or increasing pain, white or unusually pale skin, dusky or purple mottling, cold skin, blisters or a developing wound need immediate medical assessment. If the injector cannot be reached promptly, go to hospital. Do not wait overnight, massage the area, apply heat or attempt to dissolve it yourself; a serious problem is possible even without severe pain.

Persistent lumps, increasing redness or swelling that returns

A painful or persistent lump, increasing warmth and redness, pus, fever or new swelling after the area had settled needs prompt review. Causes can include infection, inflammation or a delayed reaction. Some complications appear weeks, months or longer after treatment, so elapsed time alone does not rule them out.

What if you dislike the result or want filler dissolved?

If the concern is shape and there are no urgent symptoms, assessment should distinguish swelling from the volume added. More filler is not automatically the answer to asymmetry or a disappointing result, particularly when the original concern involves skin, fat or bone.

Hyaluronidase can break down HA when medically appropriate. It does not dissolve CaHA, PLLA, fat or permanent materials in the same way. With a product containing more than one material, dissolving the HA component does not remove every other component.

Dissolving may require more than one treatment and has its own risks, including allergy, swelling and bruising. It cannot guarantee restoration of the exact previous appearance or reversal of tissue damage or vision loss. The guide to dissolving filler explains these limitations.

If you have old filler of an unknown type, a persistent lump or recurrent swelling, have it assessed before topping up. The time since the last injection is not proof that the original material has disappeared.

Filler, Botox, lifting treatments or fat transfer?

  • HA filler: adds volume or changes a contour. Results can be visible quickly, but are temporary and carry injection-related risks.
  • Botox treatment: reduces selected muscle activity, which can help suitable expression lines or muscle-related concerns. It does not replace lost facial volume.
  • Biostimulators: work through product-dependent collagen effects, often with a gradual change. They cannot all be reversed with hyaluronidase.
  • Energy-based treatments such as Ultherapy Prime: may be considered for suitable laxity concerns. They do not add gel volume to a hollow.
  • Fat transfer: uses fat taken from another part of your body. It involves a harvesting procedure and recovery at the donor area; retained volume can be less predictable, and repeat treatment may be needed.
  • Surgery: may better address substantial excess skin, some eye-bag problems or structural concerns that filler cannot correct. The recovery, risks and expected change need separate consideration.

These comparisons describe treatment choices, not confirmation that every option is provided at Smooth Clinic. More than one approach may be considered when several causes are present, but a combination is not automatically necessary. Choosing no procedure is reasonable when the likely benefit does not justify the cost, risk or maintenance.

Does a blunt cannula make filler risk-free?

No. A needle and a blunt cannula each have limitations, and neither eliminates vascular complications. Product selection, anatomy, appropriate technique and recognition of a problem remain important. The blunt cannula guide explains what this equipment can and cannot tell you about safety.
